Israel by Design

 Israel by Design is your chance to come to Israel for 5 -10 month to learn, volunteer and experience daily life in Israel all in a program that you choose, according to your interests.

Israel by Design is for individuals and groups, or a few friends looking to share a meaningful long term experience in Israel. The program is open to English speaking Jewish young adults aged between 20 and 30. 

 Israel by Design provides all the tools and support necessary to your success, as well as group seminars and tours. 

Here is how it works:

First you choose the basics: the length of your program, and where you would like to live.

Next you add volunteering: in a children's village, animal shelter, Magen David Adom ambulance service, help an NGO with their social media, support African refugees, pick avocados... the options are endless!

Finally you add courses: from academic courses, to yeshiva courses, to envirmental studies, to learning with a local artist, to scuba certification, to hang gliding lessons, desert meditation and yoga, Israeli martial arts, cooking... the choice is yours!

Israel by Design is a long term Israel program operatad by MAROM Olami in partnership with the Israel Experience Ltd, and is recognized as part of the MASA initiative.

Kiyum Institute seminar

December 29th 2011 - January 5th 2012

The first Masorti Olami Kiyum Leadership Institute is aimed at developing knowledge, practice and understanding of the Masorti Movement. The next project will be a one-week educational seminar in Israel to train and inspire young Masorti adults from around Europe.

We invite you to apply for the program, and join this unique educational and spiritual experience!

The program will bring together 15 young masorti adults from Europe who are actively involved in MAROM/Masorti communities. Participants will be eligible to receive a full scholarship for travel expenses and participation fees, and participation will be decided based on your involvement in Masorti community life both before and after the seminar.

The rpogram is designed to expand your knowledge and understanding of Jewish identity and the role that Zionism plays in your life today. It will also provide tools and direction for leading activities, discussions and religious experiences in your own community. Above all, the Kiyum Institute will be a vibrant, dynamic and motivating experience for like-minded young Masorti Jews from different European countries.

The seminar will be based at Kibbutz Hannaton in the Lower Galilee, and will combine workshops and discussions with study sessions at nearby Jewish Zionist sites. The seminar will also include a full day in Jerusalem visiting the World Zionist Organization, the Conservative yeshiva, the Schechter Institute as well as a Masorti congregation and the Masorti Kotel.

 Participants commit to the following:

     Participation in preparation meetings (by web conference) before the seminar

     Full participation in the Kiyum Institute throughout the seminar

     A 1 year commitment to being actively involved in your MAROM/Masorti community
